The National Agenda for Tinubu 2027 (NAFT.27) extends its heartfelt condolences on the passing of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday at the age of 82 in a London hospital.
In a statement released in Abuja and signed by the National Convener, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim, MFR, the group conveyed deep sympathy to the late president’s widow, former First Lady Hajia Aisha Buhari, encouraging her to find strength and solace during this difficult time.
Dr. Ibrahim remarked that the former president’s passing marks a solemn moment in the natural cycle of life and urged the family to take comfort in the belief that he has returned to his Creator. He also extended condolences to Alhaji Mamman Daura, the late president’s uncle and former Managing Director of the New Nigerian Newspapers, urging him and the extended Buhari family to accept the loss as the divine will of Almighty Allah.
NAFT.27 prayed for the repose of President Buhari’s soul and asked that Almighty Allah grant him eternal peace and accept him into Paradise.
Reflecting on his legacy, Dr. Ibrahim described President Buhari as a leader who, despite his military background, remained focused on addressing the fundamental needs of Nigerians. He noted that Buhari would be remembered in the annals of Nigerian political history as a leader who aspired to build a more just and equitable society, within the limits of his personal and professional capacities.
Dr. Ibrahim acknowledged the diverse views held by the public about Buhari’s leadership, stating that perceptions varied across political and personal lines. Nonetheless, he emphasized that Buhari’s contributions to the nation’s development remain significant and worthy of reflection.
