In a bold move to enhance national security and empower Nigerian youth, the Federal Government has officially announced a nationwide recruitment drive into various paramilitary services. This initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at strengthening internal security while creating employment opportunities across the country.
A Call to Service and Nation Building
According to the announcement, the recruitment will cut across several key paramilitary agencies, including:
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
Federal Fire Service
Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS)
The government emphasized that this exercise is designed not only to bolster manpower within these agencies but also to reinforce efforts in combating insecurity, illegal migration, vandalism, and other emerging threats.
Youth Empowerment at the Core
The Minister of Interior, in a recent press briefing, stated that the recruitment is part of the administration’s deliberate strategy to “empower the Nigerian youth, reduce unemployment, and reposition Nigeria’s security architecture to respond more effectively to current realities.”
He further assured Nigerians that the process will be transparent, inclusive, and strictly merit-based, with particular attention to gender balance and representation from all geopolitical zones.
Key Requirements
Prospective applicants must:
Be Nigerian citizens by birth
Possess a valid means of identification (NIN, Voter’s Card, etc.)
Have a minimum of five credits in WAEC/NECO/GCE (including English and Mathematics)

The Federal Ministry of Interior has also created a central hub to guide applicants and prevent exploitation by fraudsters. All applications are to be completed online, and no payment is required at any stage of the process.
Deadline and Caution
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply promptly, as the recruitment window is time-bound. The government also warns against patronizing unofficial websites or individuals claiming to facilitate recruitment, reiterating that the process is free and fair.
A New Era for National Service
This recruitment drive reflects the government’s commitment to a secure and prosperous Nigeria, where young people play an active role in national development. The Renewed Hope Agenda is more than a slogan—it is fast becoming a visible reality in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
